Nēnē Tote Bag
Nēnē Tote Bag with zipper
Illustration shows a cute Nēnē, waddling through Hawaiians lush botanics, like monsteras, taro and I added a gigantic Pua KeniKeni to it as well, just because I love that flower and scent so much. It means home to me.
A little bit of history about my Nēnē illustration:
The Hawaiian Nēnē (pronounced nay-nay), also known as the Hawaiian goose, is the state bird of Hawaiʻi and one of the rarest geese in the world.
While there aren’t many old legends about the Nēnē, birds in Hawaiian stories often show up as messengers, guides, or omens. The Nēnē, toughing it out on lava fields and grassy hills, feels like a true island hero—resilient, grounded, and full of aloha spirit.
So you can walk your new Tote just the same way.
Inside lining: Ōhiʻa Lehua
Rooted in the volcanic landscapes of Hawai‘i, the ʻŌhiʻa Lehua is one of the first to grow after a lava flow—symbolizing resilience, rebirth, and unwavering strength. In Hawaiian legend, the red lehua blossom is a symbol of eternal love and sacrifice. This artwork honors not only the enduring spirit of the land but also the strength of women who rise, flourish, and protect with grace—like the ʻŌhiʻa herself.
